JUNIOR DIVISION BID QUALIFICATION

Any U.S. Junior dance teams interested in receiving a bid to compete in the Junior Division at The Dance World Championship can submit a video(s) for qualification. In 2026, the Junior Division will be split by category; a team may qualify in all three categories.

Up to three U.S. teams per category, with a limit of one team per club location per category, are chosen to receive At-Large bids in the Junior Division, totaling up to nine At-Large bids awarded.

Eligibility and Requirements

      • Eligibility is determined by birth year: 2009-2014. For more information, view the 2026 Dance Worlds Divisions & Categories document.
      • The number of athletes allowed to compete in the Junior Division at The Dance Worlds is 6-30.
      • Categories eligible for a bid are Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Teams submitting a routine in the Contemporary/Lyrical or Kick genres are not eligible to receive a bid for the Junior Division at The Dance Worlds.
      • Junior Divisions will not be split by size or gender.

If you have any questions about the age eligibility of an athlete on your team, please contact dance.rules@iasfworlds.com.

Evaluation Process

      • Teams submitting a video(s) for a bid will be evaluated using the USASF Score Sheet and Rules as well as the IASF Age Grid.
      • Junior Hip Hop, Junior Jazz, and Junior Pom routines will be judged in their respective division.
      • At Worlds, teams will compete in the Junior Division using the IASF Score Sheet, Age Grid and Rules.

Bid Acceptance

Bid winners must accept the bid via their member portal or email within 48 hours of announcement. Any At-Large bid not accepted may be transferred to an alternate team at USASF-sanctioned competition.

Video Submission Requirements

Teams may submit an unedited, competitive performance (exhibition performances will not be accepted) that was recorded at a USASF-sanctioned competition hosted by a USASF Member Event Producer that awards bids to The Dance Worlds; the in-person performance does not have to be from a bid-giving event.

  • The number of participants that performed on the competition floor in the video at the qualifying event may not be exceeded by the number of participants competing in the Junior Division at The Dance Worlds. If the minimum requirement is not met, a deduction will be assessed.
  • All dancers must remain in the camera frame throughout the routine. Submissions with dancers exiting the picture will not be considered for adjudication.
  • Deadline for form/video submission: March 9, 2026, at noon EST.

Entry Fee

The entry fee for each category is $100. You may submit as many routines as you like; however, only one team per club per category can earn a bid.  Example: Shooting Stars Junior Team A may submit a Pom and Jazz routine and receive a bid in both. Shooting Stars Junior Team B may submit a Pom and Hip Hop routine and receive a bid in both. You will register each team separately, and there will be a total of four entry fees. If a club submits more than one video, earning them a bid in the same category, the highest-scoring routine will be selected.

Selected teams receiving At-Large bids, along with all scores, will be announced on the USASF.net website on March 13, 2026.
